Anchoring Script for World Environment Day
Good morning and a very happy World Environment Day to everyone present here!
It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this special celebration of World Environment Day. Today is a very important day for all of us, and we are gathered here to understand and celebrate the value of our Mother Earth.
My name is [Your Name], and I feel very proud to be your anchor for today’s event. I am very happy to see so many bright faces around me. I believe that together, we can bring a change. Together, we can make this Earth clean, green, and safe.
Every year on June 5, we celebrate World Environment Day to create awareness about our environment. This day reminds us that we must take care of nature, trees, rivers, animals, and the air we breathe. This year’s theme is “Only One Earth”, which means we all have one planet to live on, and we must protect it.
Before we begin the program, let us take a moment to thank all the teachers, guests, students, and volunteers who are part of today’s celebration. Your presence makes this day more meaningful.
Now, let us begin our program with a prayer to thank nature for all the gifts it has given us.
(Prayer Performance)
Thank you to the prayer team for this beautiful and peaceful start. When we pray, we feel connected to nature and the world around us.
Now, I would like to invite our respected [Principal Sir/Madam] to come on stage and share a few words about the importance of World Environment Day.
(Principal’s Speech)
Thank you so much, sir/madam, for your kind and inspiring words. Your speech has reminded us that we must all do something for the environment, even if it is a small act like planting a tree or saving water.
Now, let us move to the next part of our program – a speech by one of our students who will speak about why World Environment Day is celebrated and what we can do to protect our planet.
(Student Speech)
Wow! What a wonderful and meaningful speech. Thank you for sharing such simple and powerful ideas. Your words will stay in our hearts.
Now, it’s time to enjoy a beautiful dance performance based on the theme of nature and environment. Dance is a lovely way to express feelings and connect with others. So, let’s enjoy the performance by our talented students.
(Dance Performance)
That was amazing! Thank you to the whole dance group for showing us the beauty of nature through your dance. We could see trees, rivers, birds, and peace in every step you performed.
Let us now watch a small skit prepared by our students. This skit will show us what happens when we do not take care of nature and how we can make a difference by making simple changes in our daily life.
(Skit Performance)
Thank you to the skit team for such a powerful performance. You made us smile, think, and feel. It was not just acting—it was a strong message to all of us.
Now, I would like to invite our chief guest [Guest Name] on the stage. We are very lucky to have you with us today. Please come and share your thoughts about how we can protect the environment.
(Chief Guest Speech)
Thank you so much for your lovely and strong message. You made it clear that protecting the environment is not someone else’s job. It is our job, and we must start today.
Now, I would like to invite a group of students for a song performance. This song is about the beauty of Earth and the need to protect it. Let us enjoy this melodious performance.
(Song Performance)
Thank you to the music group for this soulful and touching song. Music has the power to touch the heart, and your song has done that today.
Now it’s time for a short quiz! Yes, let’s check how much we know about the environment. I will ask a few simple questions, and let’s see who can answer them quickly.
(Quiz Session)

Now, I would like to invite our eco-club teacher and team members to share some information about the green activities they are doing in our school, like planting trees, saving water, and waste recycling.
(Eco Club Talk)
Thank you so much for telling us about your work. It is very inspiring. We should all join hands with the eco-club and help in every possible way.
Now, let us all take a Green Pledge together. Please stand up, keep your right hand forward, and repeat after me:
Green Pledge:
“I pledge to protect the Earth,
I will not waste water,
I will not throw plastic on the ground,
I will plant more trees,
I will keep my surroundings clean,
I will love and care for nature,
Because there is only one Earth.”
Thank you, everyone, for taking the pledge. We must follow this not just today but every day.
Before we move to the last part of our program, let us now enjoy a poetry recitation. One of our students has written a poem about the Earth and the beauty of nature. Let us welcome him/her with a big round of applause.
(Poetry Recitation)
That was beautiful. Thank you for writing such sweet and deep words about nature. You made us feel proud of our Earth.
Now, we will have a small tree-planting ceremony. Trees are our best friends. They give us air to breathe, shade to rest, fruits to eat, and flowers to enjoy. So today, we will plant some saplings to mark this day.
(Tree Planting Activity)
Thank you to all who helped in planting the trees. These trees will grow and remind us of this beautiful day.
Before we end today’s program, I want to say a few words from my heart.
Ending Speech:
Dear friends, nature gives us everything for free – water, air, food, beauty, and peace. But we often forget to say thank you. We use plastic, waste water, cut trees, and pollute the air. Today, on World Environment Day, let us promise to change. We don’t need big steps. Even small steps like using less plastic, not wasting water, planting a tree, switching off lights, and spreading awareness can bring a big change.
We should remember: “We do not own this planet. We are only its caretakers for the future generation.”
So let us be responsible. Let us take care of our Earth like we take care of our home, because this planet is our only home.
I want to thank all the teachers, students, guests, and everyone who made today’s program so beautiful. Without your help, this would not have been possible.
A special thanks to the cultural team, the eco-club, the organizing committee, and the volunteers. You all worked very hard, and it shows in today’s success.
As we end the program, I request you all to take the message of this day with you. Share it with your family and friends. Help them understand why it is important to save nature.
Let us work together, and one day, we will see a green, clean, and peaceful Earth.
Once again, thank you everyone for joining us.
Have a beautiful and green day ahead.
Happy World Environment Day to all!
“Only One Earth: Save it, Love it, Protect it.”
Jai Hind!
Thank you!
