Good morning/afternoon everyone! A warm welcome to all our respected teachers, parents, and, of course, all the young stars who make this day so special! Today, we are gathered to celebrate Children’s Day, a day dedicated entirely to the happiness, dreams, and innocence of all children. It’s a day to enjoy, to play, and most importantly, to be proud of being a child.
As we know, Children’s Day in India is celebrated on the 14th of November each year in honor of our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He loved children deeply and believed they were the future of the nation. He wanted children to grow up in a world filled with joy and education, so he dedicated this day to them.
Let’s make this day unforgettable with exciting activities, stories, and fun acts, showing what makes us all unique and special. So, let’s get started!
Welcoming Our Guests
First, let’s warmly welcome all our dear teachers and parents who have joined us today. Thank you for being here to share in the joy of Children’s Day. You are all such an important part of our lives, teaching us and guiding us every day. So, let’s begin by giving a big round of applause to our teachers and parents!
And of course, let’s not forget to welcome our main stars of the day – all the children here who make this day truly amazing. You are all very special, and today is for you!
Lighting the Lamp
To begin our celebration, let’s invite our principal, teachers, and some students on stage to light the lamp. The lighting of the lamp symbolizes knowledge, goodness, and a bright future for all. As we light this lamp, let us fill our hearts with the hope and joy that each new day brings.
(Music in the background as the lamp is being lit.)
Thank you to our guests for lighting the lamp and filling our stage with positivity and warmth.
Story Time: The Little Brave Girl
To make the day more memorable, let’s start with a wonderful story – “The Little Brave Girl.”
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Tara who loved adventure. One day, she went to the forest to collect some flowers. While she was busy picking flowers, she realized she had wandered far and was lost! She got scared but remembered what her parents always told her: “Be brave, even when you are alone.”
So, Tara calmed herself and started looking for her way back. She found her footprints in the mud and followed them until she safely reached her home. Her family was so proud of her bravery! And from that day, everyone called her “Brave Tara.”
Dear friends, Tara’s story reminds us that no matter what challenges we face, we should stay calm and be brave.
Poem Recitation: “I Am a Child”
Let’s now enjoy a poem titled “I Am a Child,” which speaks about the innocence and joy of childhood. I would like to invite [Student’s Name] to recite it.
I Am a Child
I am a child, full of dreams,
I laugh, I play, in golden beams.
With little feet and big hopes too,
I’ll fly so high, like skies are blue.
I hold a world in my little hand,
With eyes so wide, I understand.
So let me play, let me see,
The beauty of life, so wild and free.
Thank you, [Student’s Name], for that lovely poem. Children, each one of you is full of dreams, laughter, and innocence, and that’s what makes the world beautiful!
Fun Activity: Balloon Pop Game
Let’s now move to our first fun activity – the Balloon Pop Game!
The rules are simple. We have placed balloons on the stage, and each balloon has a small note with a fun question or a challenge. We’ll invite children in pairs to come up, pop a balloon, and complete the challenge they find inside.
For example, one balloon might say, “Do your best dance move,” or “Tell a joke.” This is going to be so much fun, so let’s begin! (The anchor can call names randomly or encourage children to volunteer.)
Wasn’t that fun? Thank you all for participating so energetically! Every child here has a special talent, and this game has shown us just how talented you all are.
A Song Performance
Let’s move to a beautiful song performance by our school choir. They have prepared a song that talks about love, joy, and friendship. Let’s give them a big round of applause as they come up on stage.
(Music plays as the choir performs the song.)
Thank you to our choir for such a wonderful performance! Your voices have filled our hearts with joy.
Fun Skit: The Value of Friendship
Now, we have a short skit prepared by some of our friends here, and the theme is “The Value of Friendship.”
Once upon a time, there were two friends, Amar and Arjun. They did everything together. But one day, they had a fight over a simple misunderstanding and stopped talking to each other.
One day, Amar saw Arjun in trouble – he was about to fall into a river. Without thinking twice, Amar rushed and saved him. Arjun was so grateful, and they hugged and promised never to fight again. From that day, they realized the true value of friendship and that they should always stand by each other.
Remember, friends are precious, and we should never let misunderstandings take them away. Let’s give our friends a big applause for their beautiful skit.
Dance Performance
After that heartfelt skit, it’s time for a lively dance performance! Our school dance team has prepared an energetic performance for us all, so let’s welcome them on stage with a big round of applause!
(The dance team performs a high-energy dance. The anchor waits and cheers along with the audience.)
Wow! That was fantastic! Thank you, team, for bringing such energy and joy to our stage. Your performance has filled the room with excitement!
Short Story: The Magic Pencil
Here’s another lovely story to enjoy, and it’s called “The Magic Pencil.”
There was once a boy named Raju who loved to draw, but he only had a small, worn-out pencil. One day, he wished for a magic pencil that would make his drawings come to life. Suddenly, he found a pencil that seemed to glow! Raju started drawing – first, a bird, then a beautiful house, and soon, all his drawings turned real.
But Raju soon realized that having everything wasn’t making him happy. He decided to go back to his normal pencil, drawing his dreams and saving them for the future. Raju learned that hard work and patience bring more joy than magic.
